We inherited the caravan when we took on Panson Mill in 2016. She was in a sorry state after years of sitting peacefully in the shade of the oak trees and cushioned by the spring daffodils, bluebells and uncurling woodland ferns. A complete renovation was carried out to restore her to former glory and we named her Prudence in honour of the lady who had owned her for the past 60 years (photo) We are still in contact with her and she has been delighted to see the restoration take shape.

Tucked down a private track off the winding West Devon lanes, nestled within native tree copse and south facing wildflower meadow lies a beautiful off-grid wild space to make your holiday home. Our renovated Reading style gypsy caravan offers a traditional cosy and comfortable, year round accommodation.

The camp kitchen and shower are located just a few steps from the caravan and function off LPG gas. There is a decked area and picnic table for relaxing and enjoying the peace and connecting with nature. The compost loo is situated above and to the side of the site (15m). The double sleeping space is 5ft 9 x 4ft 6. The children’s den is (approximately 5ft x 4ft 6) underneath and has floor mattresses and pillows, bedding is not included, so please bring sleeping bags. We have a flat area available for a small tent if needed for additional sleeping space on request only. Guests are welcome to explore our wildlife haven, paddle in the stream and relax in the hammock and play on the tyre swing. Under the cover of darkness enjoy the benefits of clear skies, gaze at the stars and warm your toes by the fire pit.
